About Me

After completing my Bachelors at Cornell and my MBA at Harvard I joined Ciba-Geigy in their Swiss BD&L group. During my tenure with Ciba-Geigy I lived in Switzerland for four years becoming a member of the Global Seeds Management Team followed by a stint in the US Crop Protection Business working through various roles in Strategic Planning and Marketing.

In 1997 I was recruited by Novartis and became U.S. Finance Manager of their Animal Health Division. I was promoted to successively more responsible roles in 2001 and 2004 as U.S. Controller and Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance/IT for North America respectively. As Controller and Finance Manager of the business I evaluated and strengthened controls with all major functions. I drove financial productivity with more efficient handling of many processes and identifying key metrics for all departments. In addition I also reengineered Credit and managed the project to in source logistics from third parties. As CFO of the North American Region and member of the Executive Management Team, I consolidated purchasing, initiated the consolidation of systems to SAP, drove the analytical measurements of Marketing and Sales investments to focus strategy and improve the return on A+P and was responsible for meeting Sarbanes Oxley requirements.

I was promoted to CFO of Global Manufacturing in 2007 where I implemented productivity initiatives focused on reducing product costs along with establishing KPI's and productivity goals for all seven manufacturing facilities located around the world.
